Illyrian Consulting Engineers Sh.p.k. (ICE) has been contracted to develop the feasibility scheme of 250 MW PSHP (Pump Storage Hydropower Plant). Pumped storage schemes are designed to pump water to an upper reservoir when there is a surplus of electrical energy in a power grid, and then to release this water back to a lower reservoir through the units, acting in turbine mode, during periods of high energy demand. Given all of the technical and commercial constraints, the main objectives of this study are:
– To define the final layout of the project in order to meet the minimum power of 250 MW.
– To carry out the preliminary engineering of all of the works in order to define their geometries and therefore procure a detailed bill of quantities (BOQ) and an accurate project cost estimate for this feasibility stage.
– To estimate the energy production.
The main services provided within this Project were as those below:
